Benchmark study
A specific form of original research: a recurring audit that scores and ranks every player in a market against a fixed set of measures, then publishes the standings. Its power comes from the ranking — because every company is in it, every company has a reason to read it, request their score, and try to climb next year. It’s the league-table position: the publisher doesn’t argue about who’s best, they hold the scoreboard the argument runs on. For WPH, the annual “State of Philippine Automotive Digital” audits all 80 companies on site speed, Core Web Vitals, launch-page speed, lead capture, and AI-search visibility — measured with the GEO stack WPH already owns.
Source: The benchmark-as-authority-asset draws on Hinge Research Institute’s research-as-content evidence (original research is the most credible, fastest-growth content type) applied in the recurring-ranking format. This course names WPH’s specific application — the annual PH automotive digital benchmark — as the concrete instance.
